Kankakee, IL : Seven people injured in a three-vehicle crash west of Manteno on Wednesday, November 9, 2016

Seven people suffered minor injuries as a result of a three-vehicle crash west of Manteno on U.S. Route 45/52 on Wednesday.

According to Illinois State Police, the driver of a Ford Focus was traveling northbound at 6:30 p.m. on Route 45/52 at 10000N Road when he struck the rear of a Ford F150 pickup truck.

The Ford Focus ricocheted off the truck and struck a Mazda traveling southbound.

There were two occupants in the truck and four in the Mazda.

The injured were taken to local hospitals.

The driver of the Ford Focus was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and failure to wear a seatbelt.
