Birmingham AL : Two killed, others injured in six car crash on Interstate 20/59 Thursday evening On May 29th 2014.

Birmingham police and first responders spent hours working a six car crash on Interstate 20/59 near the Arkadelphia road exit not too far from downtown Birmingham.
Authorities say two people were killed and two others were hurt when a car traveling west crossed the median and hit another car traveling eastbound on the busy interstate.
The injured were taken to a local hospital. No word on the severity of their injuries.
The names of the deceased will not be released until next of kin are notified.
As of 8:30 p.m. traffic, on both sides of the major interstate leading to and from Birmingham, was backed up for miles from the accident site as officials reviewed and cleared the scene.
