Billings, MT : Bridger mayor dies in all-terrain vehicle crash in an alley near the high school's parking lot on Wednesday night, July 6, 2016

The mayor of Bridger was killed in an all-terrain vehicle crash about a block from his house.

Bridger Police Chief Mike Buechler says 53-year-old Scott DeRudder died in a crash Wednesday night in an alley near the high school's parking lot. Buechler says he believes it was raining and investigators are trying to determine if one of the ATV's wheels might have gone off the pavement and gotten caught in the dirt, causing the ATV to flip.

Buechler says Rudder died of blunt force trauma. He was not wearing a helmet.
