NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO : 1 killed in motorcycle crash in New Madrid Co. on Saturday, 13th July 2024

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a man from New Madrid died during a motorcycle crash Saturday night.

According to MSHP, the crash happened around 9 p.m. on July 13, just 4 miles east of Risco in New Madrid County.

67-year-old Calvin D. Morgan was driving a motorcycle eastbound on U.S. 62, when he failed to navigate a curve, traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Both Morgan and a passenger, 68-year-old Gale M. Moore of Hayti, were ejected from the motorcycle.

Morgan died at the scene. Moore was seriously injured and taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
