Penn Hills, PA : Driver flees crash in Penn Hills on Rodi Road on Wednesday, September 24, 2014
Penn Hills police arrested a driver who witnesses say fled the scene of a car crash Wednesday on Rodi Road.
The crash occurred about 4 p.m. near the 300 block of Rodi Road outside Service King Collision Repair Center.
Penn Hills police Chief Howard Burton said the driver of a red pickup truck with an advertisement on the side for Energy Saver Windows and Exteriors Inc. collided with a blue-green Subaru Forester.
Witnesses said the pickup's driver fled the scene, leaving the truck in the road and blocking traffic.
The driver was arrested in woods near Rodi Road, police said. His name was not available.
Burton said he was taken to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville for back pain.
The other driver was transported to Forbes Hospital and no details were available on her condition.
A man who answered the phone at Energy Saver declined to comment. The company's website lists a Pittsburgh address.
Service King employee Pete Garland said he saw the truck swerve out of its lane and collide with the Subaru before the pickup's driver walked away.
A passenger in the truck was treated at the scene but declined comment.
