TRAVERSE CITY, MI : Garfield Road closed after crash on Thursday, 31st January 2019

Three people were injured in a three-car crash on Garfield Road.

The crash happened at 3:58 p.m. on Thursday after one vehicle struck a second that crossed its path in the Sleights Road intersection, pushing the second vehicle into the path of a third, Grand Traverse County sheriff's Capt. Randy Fewless said in an email.

A 31-year-old Traverse City woman was headed south on Garfield Road in an SUV when a commercial van pulled in front of her, Fewless said. The van's driver, a 38-year-old Cadillac man, was headed east on Sleights Road when he approached the stop sign and failed to yield to the Traverse City woman, Fewless said. A Kingsley woman, 43, was headed north on Garfield Road in an SUV and struck the van after the first collision, Fewless said.
