Stroudsburg, PA : One person injured after a Bus/truck collision on Rt. 611 near Mount Airy Casino Resort in Paradise Township on Thursday evening, March 16, 2017

One person was flown and six others were transported to hospitals after a Thursday evening crash involving a pickup truck and a Monroe County Transit Authority bus near Mount Airy Casino Resort in Paradise Township.

According to police, a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck driven by Keith Transue, 43, of Mount Pocono, went through a red light on Route 611 at its intersection with Woodland Road in Paradise Township. Transue had three passengers, and was hauling a trailer with an ATV and two snow blowers, according to a police report.

A MCTA bus was attempting to make a left turn onto Woodland Road, when the two vehicles collided in the northbound lane of Route 611. The Dodge Ram came to rest on Woodland Road. The MCTA bus ended up on Route 611 north. The collision occurred at 9:31 p.m.

Walter Transue, 69, of Cresco, a passenger in the pickup truck was flown by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest. He is in critical condition, according to the hospital.

Keith Transue and two passengers in the pickup truck, ages 15 and 16, were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono with non-life threatening injuries.

EMS transported three bus passengers with moderate injuries to St. Luke's Hospital in Bartonsville. That included Diane Ward, 42, of Mount Pocono, Nicholas Adams, 18, of Tobyhanna and an unknown male.

The bus was a full-size, 35-foot Gillig 2013 low floor bus that seats 35 people, according to MCTA Assistant Executive Director Rich Schlameuss. It is not known how many passengers were on the bus at the time of the crash. The driver was Leonard Williams, 53, of Taylor.

Pennsylvania State Police in Swiftwater are investigating the crash.
