CRANSTON, RI : Providence man dies in crash on Route 10 on Monday, 15th October 2018

One person died and another was injured in a crash on Route 10 early Monday morning, according to the Rhode Island State Police.

A vehicle traveling south near the exit for Route 95 crossed two lanes of traffic, went off the road and struck a tree at around 6:55 a.m.

Two people were riding in the vehicle; both were taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

Marcel Odom, 24, of Providence, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other occupant was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

When asked which occupant was the driver of the vehicle, state police spokeswoman Laura Meade Kirk, said it is “still under investigation.”
