LUDLOW, VT : 2 injured when tractor-trailer crashes into Vermont home on Route 100 in Ludlow, Vermont on Tuesday, 31st July 2018

A child has been rushed to the hospital after a tractor-trailer smashed into a house.

It happened about 1 p.m. Tuesday on Route 100 in Ludlow, Vermont.Vermont State Police said Route 100, also known as Andover Street, would be closed for up to six hours.

The Ludlow police chief said five people were in the home when the tractor-trailer hit it.

The driver was taken to the hospital to be treated for cuts and a possible concussion injuries.

The child had cuts, scrapes, and possibly a broken wrist, which were considered minor.

The driver told police he lost his brakes a mile up the road from the crash scene.

The truck traveled down the hilly road and rounded a corner, where it hit the house. This is the third time the house has been hit in the last 10 years.

The tractor-trailer was hauling wooden pallets.

The front of the house was torn off and it appeared a utility pole was also destroyed.

No other information has yet been released.
