Wichita, KS : 41-year-old man killed in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 135 in central Wichita on Sunday, December 6, 2015

A 41-year-old man was killed late Sunday in a one-vehicle crash in central Wichita, authorities said.

The crash occurred at 11:30 p.m. as the driver of a 2001 Ford Escort was taking the Lincoln Street on-ramp to southbound Interstate 135.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the driver lost control and struck a curb, partially overturning the vehicle.

The driver, Shane D. Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The patrol said Smith, who was alone in his car, wasn’t wearing his seat belt.
