MEMPHIS, TN : Officer injured in hit-and-run crash on Thursday, December 8th, 2016

A Memphis Police Department officer was injured in a crash early Thursday morning.

According to MPD, a black SUV rear-ended the police cruiser near the intersection of Hickory Hill Road and Plum Valley Drive while the officer was patrolling the neighborhood. The SUV then drove off.

The officer was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition with back and neck injuries.

WMC Action News 5 is working to get a description of the SUV and any suspects inside.
