A person is dead after a crash on the Florida Turnpike that injured two others, Lake County officials said.
According to authorities, the crash involving a motorcycle, four vehicles and an RV, happened in the southbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike near Howey-in-the-Hills Saturday afternoon.
61-year-old David Kibble of Tennessee died while two others who were taken to a hospital by ambulance are stable.
Troopers said all vehicles were traveling southbound on the Florida Turnpike and were approaching a toll plaza.
Kibble was in stop-and-go traffic on a motorcycle with 3 other vehicles and an RV. Troopers said a vehicle failed to stop as it approached the plaza and struck the rear of Kibble's motorcycle and another car.
The crash caused a chain reaction, according to troopers.
Kibble died at the hospital.
