Lancaster, OH : Man struck, killed by a car on U.S. 33 in Lancaster on Wednesday, Nov 25, 2015
A man who was hit while standing outside his car on U.S. 33 in Lancaster has died, police say.
Bill Allman and Fairfield County deputy Lyle Campbell were seriously hurt when a vehicle slammed into the two while standing outside a previous accident scene. Allman died Wednesday, and Campbell had to get surgery on his legs.
Fairfield County Sheriff Dave Phalen said he visited Deputy Campbell this evening.
“He seems to be doing better,” Phalen said. “(The) doctor thinks it could take one year to fully recover.”
The Ohio State Highway Patrol Accident Investigation team is still going over evidence from this crash and said no one has been charged.
