TURTLECREEK TOWNSHIP, OH : Greenfield man, son die in Ohio crash on Interstate 71 on Tuesday, 26th November, 2019

A Greenfield man and his son died Tuesday night in an accident on Interstate 71 in Ohio.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jordan Rivard, 41, and his 5-year-old son were killed in the two-vehicle accident.

Rivard’s 3-year-old son sustained “serious injury” and was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, according to police.

At around 7:56 p.m. Tuesday, moments before the crash, Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lebanon Post received reports of an SUV traveling northbound on the southbound lanes of I-71.A preliminary investigation revealed Rivard was driving a 2016 Ford Explorer and going the wrong way on the highway, crashing head-on into a 2017 Freightliner.

According to police, the Freightliner was driven by Mohamed Omar, 31, of Seattle, Wash., who was transported to Bethesda Arrow Springs Hospital in Lebanon, Ohio, and treated for his injuries.
