BATH, ME : Bath tractor-trailer crash reroutes Route 1 traffic overnight on Wednesday, 30th January 2019
A tractor-trailer crash on Route 1 in Bath forced police to reroute traffic overnight Wednesday.
Officers were called to the New Meadows Road exit onto State Road at 10:53 p.m.
The tractor-trailer was the only vehicle involved and the driver was uninjured, according to Deputy Chief Robert Savary. Police say the truck swerved to get out of the way of another vehicle and slid off the road onto its side. Snow squalls rolled through Maine Wednesday night, causing high winds and a thin layer of snowfall. Road conditions are believed to have contributed to the accident.
Traffic was rerouted around the crash until 7 a.m. Thursday.
“The delay is because they had to wait for the right towing equipment to show up,” Savary said.
