Monroe, LA : Multiple people injured after a four-car wreck on U.S. 165 South on Tuesday, March 28, 2017
A four-car wreck at the intersection of East Street and U.S. 165 South sent multiple people to the hospital Tuesday.
Four ambulances responded to the scene along with the Monroe Police and Fire Departments.
According to a bystander, Rev. Walter Brooks III, he was standing nearby when he saw the wreck occur at approximately 1:35 p.m. One vehicle went through the red light he said and hit another while one car hit it's brakes in an unsuccessful attempt to avoid the accident.
Brooks, who was flagging traffic at the MLK frontage during clean-up, said he helped two adults and a baby exit their vehicle.
Wreckers were on the scene and had completed clean-up by 2:30 p.m.
No information on the extent of injuries suffered is available, but no victims were airlifted immediately following the accident.
