SALAMANCA, NY : Driver of vehicle that killed Salamanca Town Supervisor and wife arrested on Friday, December, 15th 2017
Two pedestrians killed as a result of a Friday evening crash in the Town of Salamanca have been identified as the Town Supervisor, Michael Phillips and his wife Donna Phillips.
It happened at the intersection Route 353 and North State.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office tells News 4 the two were walking from their home over to the Town Hall to sign checks when they were struck by a vehicle.
The driver, Kevin Donaldson Jr., was arrested and charged with DWI and two counts of vehicular manslaughter in the 2nd degree. Donaldson was arraigned Friday night and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail. He will appear in Town of Salamanca Court on Monday at 6pm.
The Sheriff’s office says there were four people in Donaldson’s car at the time of the crash and one passenger was taken to the a hospital for treatment.
