Springfield, IL : Two critically injured in motorcycle crash on Saturday September 17 2016

Two people sustained life-threatening injuries Saturday when their motorcycle collided with a sport utility vehicle at Ninth Street and South Grand Avenue.
Springfield police confirmed that a passer-by performed CPR on one of the victims. Both the driver and the passenger from the motorcycle were rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
The crash occurred about 7:20 p.m. as the motorcycle was heading west on South Grand Avenue. The SUV was eastbound on South Grand, attempting to turn left to head north on Ninth Street. The motorcycle hit the side of the SUV, police said.
As of 8 p.m., both Ninth Street and South Grand Avenue remained closed as police investigated the crash.
Additional information on the two injured people was not immediately available.
