DES MOINES, IA : Des Moines police arrest man after chase that left man dead on Sunday, 14th, August, 2016
Police have arrested a Des Moines man in connection with a weekend crash that killed the driver of another vehicle.
Police Wednesday said investigators arrested 34-year-old Darnell Browder after his release from a hospital and charged him with homicide by motor vehicle while intoxicated and homicide by motor vehicle while driving recklessly. He also was charged with serious injury by motor vehicle, eluding police, felon in possession of a firearm and driving while his license was suspended.
The charges stem from a brief chase by police early Sunday that ended when Browder crashed into a car, killing 41-year-old Jason Hunt. A passenger in Hunt’s car was injured, as was Browder and a passenger in his car.
Online court records don’t indicate whether Browder has a lawyer who could comment.
