OROVILLE, CA : Crash on Highway 70 leaves 2 dead on Tuesday, 4h June 2024

Two people died in a two-vehicle crash on northbound Highway 70, just north of Montgomery Street, Tuesday morning, the CHP said.The CHP said that after investigating, they determined that one of the vehicles, a white Volkswagen CC occupied by two people, had come to a stop on northbound Highway 70 on the Feather River Bridge for unknown reasons.The CHP said that after investigating, they determined that one of the vehicles, a white Volkswagen CC occupied by two people, had come to a stop on northbound Highway 70 on the Feather River Bridge for unknown reasons.

Meanwhile, a red Ram pickup, driven by Elijah Kinser of Oroville, was traveling north on Highway 70 at a stated speed of 65 MPH. Kinser failed to realize the Volkswagen was stopped ahead and was unable to stop his pickup before rear-ending the stopped Volkswagen.
