Ada Township, MI : SUV struck and killed a 51-year-old bicyclist on Wednesday night July 9th 2014
Authorities say a drunken driving suspect behind the wheel of an SUV struck and killed a 51-year-old bicyclist in western Michigan.
The Kent County sheriff's department says the crash happened Wednesday night in Kent County's Ada Township, near Grand Rapids. It identifies the victim as Jeffery Dykehouse of Grand Rapids.
The Grand Rapids Press says that 61-year-old Steven F. Jones was held overnight at the Kent County jail on suspicion of drunken driving, then released.
There's no listed phone number for Jones, and he couldn't be reached for comment.
Family members say Jones is from the unincorporated Newaygo County community of Bitely and stays with brother and sister-in-law Dale and Alice Gant in Ada during the work week.
