Unincorporated Marengo Township, PA : Elgin woman killed in crash involving go-kart in the 22200 block of River Road in unincorporated Marengo Township on Saturday, 22nd September 2018

A 29-year-old Elgin woman was killed in a crash Saturday night in the 22200 block of River Road in unincorporated Marengo Township, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

At 10:20 p.m., the McHenry and Boone County sheriff’s offices, Marengo police, Marengo conservation police and the Marengo Fire Protection District responded to a reported crash involving a 2011 Toyota Camry and a Manco go-kart.

A preliminary investigation indicated that both vehicles had been traveling west on River Road when the Camry, driven by 26-year-old Brett Herold of Marengo, struck the back of the go-kart, which was driven by the Elgin woman, the release said.
