South Marion County, FL : Man injured in single-vehicle crash on US 441 on Sunday, 15th March, 2020

A man suffered life-threatening injuries in a single car crash Sunday afternoon on U.S. 441 in south Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Troopers said the driver, who has not yet been identified, was traveling southbound on Highway 441 north of the intersection of Del Webb Boulevard when the Nissan Altima he was driving entered the grassy median and then struck a culvert.

The Nissan went airborne for an unspecified distance and ended up on the south side of the traffic-light controlled intersection, which serves as the entrance to Del Webb Spruce Creek Community, a few miles south of Belleview.

The Nissan overturned during the crash, and the driver was ejected, troopers said. The man was taken to an area hospital where he is being treated for critical injuries.
