Naches,WA : Union Gap man injured in motorcycle crash outside Naches on may, Monday 29th 2017
A Union Gap man is in fair condition at a Yakima hospital after crashing his motorcycle near Naches on Monday afternoon.
Jesus F. Gutierrez, 55, was riding east on U.S. Highway 12 around 2:55 p.m. when his 1990 Yamaha XV750 failed to negotiate a curve about 7 miles west of Naches, according to a Washington State Patrol news release. Gutierrez’s motorcycle left the road, the statement said, and was totalled in the crash.
Gutierrez was taken to Virginia Mason Memorial hospital, where he was being treated as of Monday evening. Troopers said he was wearing a helmet and intoxicants were not a factor.
The crash was caused by improper lane travel, but Gutierrez is not being cited, according to the release.
It is the second motorcycle crash near Naches this weekend. Theodore J. Eidsmoe, 49, of Naches was killed Saturday evening when his motorcycle crashed into a railing at 2462 Nile Road, approximately 15 miles west of Naches.
