Idaho State Police investigators say Carrie Lupton, 45, of Nampa, was trying to merge onto the highway when she lost control of her vehicle and struck the tractor-trailer driven by Lonnie Smith, 57, of Weiser. Smith’s truck overturned, blocking two of the eastbound lanes.
Smith was taken by ground ambulance to a Nampa hospital.
A third vehicle driven by Russel Njilay, 19, of Meridian, hit debris that was in the roadway from the crash.
