SPRING HILL, TN : 1 killed at least 2 injured in I-65 crash; roadway partially re-opened on Monday, October, 9th 2017
All lanes of Interstate 65 have reopened after one person was killed and several others were injured in a crash between Saturn Parkway and Interstate 840 on Monday.
It took crews more than 14 hours to clear the southbound lanes. The interstate fully reopened just before 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Police at the scene said a car crossed the median and went into oncoming traffic around 4:15 p.m. Monday. Investigators are working to learn why the car crossed the median.
Four vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, were involved in the wreck. Rescue personnel spent several hours extricating people from the vehicles.
At least four people were hurt, and two were flown via helicopter to Nashville for treatment.
Officials have not released the name of the person who was killed.
