Venango County, PA : Butler County man killed in crash on the Route 8 bypass near Oil City on Monday, 7th September, 2020

A Butler County man was killed on Monday night in a single-vehicle crash on the Route 8 bypass near Oil City in Venango County, Oil City police reported.

Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh identified the victim as Tyler J. Coast, 34, of Harrisville.

Police said Coast was traveling north on the Route 8 bypass when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and left the roadway.

Coast’s vehicle traveled about 330 feet north before it struck a utility pole and caught fire, police reported.

Coast had to be freed from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by Rugh.
