A Pennsylvania man was taken to an area hospital after he lost control of his car and struck a utility pole early this morning, police said today.

Ralph J. Lucchese, 21, of Gilbert, Penn., was driving a 2007 Pontiac GT southbound on Pennington Road around 12:47 a.m. when he lost control of the car and hit a pole. No other cars were involved and Lucchese was alone in the car, Chief Lance D. Maloney said.

Lucchese was removed from the car by Pennington Fire Department and Pennington Road Fire Department responders. Ewing EMS took Lucchese to Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell with a leg injury, Maloney said.
