SHERMAN, IL : A 21-year-old Sherman man was killed on Tuesday, August 8, 2017

A 21-year-old Sherman man was killed Tuesday evening when his motorcycle collided with truck on Sherman Road near Farrand Road.

Ryan William Fager was pronounced dead at HSHS St. John’s Hospital at 9:20 p.m. Preliminary autopsy results indicate he died of injuries sustained in the accident, a press release from the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office said.

The crash occurred as Fager was traveling west on Sherman Road about 8:38 p.m. His headlight wasn’t working, so he was following a friend, Sangamon County Sheriff Wes Barr said.

An eastbound truck driven by John Sudduth, 18, who lives on Farrand Road, was stopped and attempting to turn left near Farrand Road. After Fager’s friend passed, Sudduth attempted to turn and his truck collided with the motorcycle. Sudduth didn’t see the motorcycle due to the fact that the headlight wasn’t working, Barr said.

Sudduth was cited for improper left turn, Barr said.
