Janesville, WI : Illinois man dies after a motorcycle crash near Morningside Drive on Monday night, June 6, 2016

A 23-year-old Illinois man is dead after a motorcycle crash Monday night on the east side of Janesville.

Police responded to an injury crash just before 9 p.m. near Morningside Drive and Green Forest Run, where they found a man had been thrown from his motorcycle after it hit the curb, according to a Janesville Police Department news release.

The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center where he was later pronounced dead, the release stated.

His name was being withheld until his family is notified.

The crash remains under investigation, according to a police department spokesman.
