Bliss, MI : Motorcyclist hospitalized after crash on Schmalzried Road on Tuesday, July 26, 2016

A Levering man was transported to McLaren Northern Michigan hospital after crashing his motorcycle into road construction equipment on Schmalzried Road.

According to Emmet County Sheriff Pete Wallin, the crash occurred at around 8 a.m. Tuesday, near the intersection of Schmalzried and Pleasantview roads. James Keller, 66, of Levering was taken to the Petoskey hospital by Emmet County EMS.

“The motorcycle ran into the back of the construction equipment,” said Wallin.

The extent of Keller’s injuries is unclear and Wallin said the crash is still under investigation.
