Doniphan, MO : Woman seriously injured in one-car crash on Route Y in Ripley County on Tuesday, December 22, 2015

A Region 8 woman was seriously hurt when her car slammed into a tree.

The crash happened at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday on Route Y, 10 miles north of Doniphan in Ripley County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Latisha D. Johnson, 44, of Doniphan was southbound when her 2007 Toyota Camry ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Johnson was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

According to the crash report, Johnson was wearing a seat belt.
