New Orleans, LA : 34-year-old man died after a traffic accident on Interstate 10 near the Mississippi state line in Slidell on Friday morning, March 18, 2016

State police are investigating a traffic accident that killed a 34-year-old man on Interstate 10 near the Mississippi state line in Slidell.

The victim in the Friday morning accident was a man driving a westbound Mercedes-Benz that crossed onto the median and began to rotate as it headed for the eastbound lanes. An eastbound driver was unable to avoid a collision.

The Mercedes driver was pronounced dead at the scene. State police were attempting to reach family members before releasing the name. What caused the driver to veer onto the median was under investigation.
