St. Paul, MN : An Eagan man was killed in a crash on May, Sunday 7th 2017

An Eagan man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding struck a car early Saturday on U.S. 61 south of Cottage Grove.

Joe Neal Hansmeier, 43, was going south in the northbound lanes just before 1 a.m. when his Harley-Davidson collided head-on with a Kia, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. He was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul but did not survive.

Hansmeier was not wearing a helmet, according to the State Patrol, and alcohol was believed to be a factor in the collision.

The driver of the Kia, Rachel Marie Dickson, 22, of Cottage Grove was not drinking and was not seriously injured, according to the State Patrol.
