Gibsonton, FL : 69-year-old woman died after being hit by a car on U.S. 41 near Park Grove Drive on Monday morning, Nov 16, 2015

A 69-year-old woman died Monday morning after being hit by a car as she tried to walk across U.S. 41 near Park Grove Drive, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The vehicle, driven by Jaroslava Zoldanova, was traveling north on U.S. 41, south of Symmes Road, in the inside lane when it struck the woman, who died at the scene.

The pedestrian was not identified by the FHP pending notification of next of kin. Zoldanova suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
