Percival,IA : 6 people injured, 3 taken to hospitals after accident on Big Lake Road, police say on May, Wednesday 16th 2018
Six passengers on an assisted-living facility bus were injured when the vehicle struck a train trestle near Big Lake Park on Wednesday.
The Council Bluffs Police Department reported the bus, owned by Notre Dame Housing in Omaha, crashed into the 8-foot, 8-inch tall trestle around noon.
The back of the bus was ripped off during the impact and the top of the bus was severely damaged, police said.
Of the six people on the bus, all had minor injuries, while three were treated at local hospitals. Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
The driver of the bus was issued a citation for the crash.
The Canadian National Railway was notified of the incident and all train activity was stopped, causing traffic jams in the area for an hour.
