Mill Creek, DE : Man struck and killed while crossing Route 2 in northern Delaware community of Mill Creek on Saturday, Nov 14, 2015

Delaware State Police say a man was struck and killed while crossing state Route 2 in the unincorporated community of Mill Creek in northern Delaware.

Police say the 59-year-old man was crossing against the light on Delaware Park Boulevard when he was hit by a Honda Accord shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday. They say the impact vaulted him over the roof of the car.

The driver of the Accord was not hurt. Police say he stopped his car after hitting the victim in a westbound lane of the highway.

Police say there is no indication the driver was impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Police haven't released the name of the victim.

The incident remains under investigation.
