WOODSTOCK, GA : 2 teens killed, 3 others seriously injured in Cherokee County crash on Tuesday, 9th January 2024

A deadly crash Tuesday night in Cherokee County has claimed the lives of two teenagers and left several others seriously injured.

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office says at 8:17 p.m., deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Towne Lake Parkway near Towne Lake Hills East. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a Mazda 6 with five passengers had left the roadway and struck a tree in the center median.

Officials say one man died on the scene. The other four passengers were transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where another passenger later died.

Deputies identified the deceased victims as Gabriel Escandon, a 17-year-old young man from Marietta and Esteban Cortez-Rendon, an 18-year-old man from Woodstock.
