Milwaukee, WI : Oshkosh woman dies after vehicle struck a tree early Thursday morning, December 17, 2015

An Oshkosh woman died after a vehicle hit a tree early Thursday morning.

The incident happened about 2:10 a.m. in the 1700 block of Maricopa Drive, according to an Oshkosh Police Department news release.

Preliminary investigation showed the vehicle was headed north on Maricopa Drive when it left the road and struck a tree, officials said. The victim, 28, was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
