Delaware, OH : Delaware man killed in Knox County crash on Thursday, September 14, 2017
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single-vehicle crash Thursday night in Knox County that left a Delaware man dead.
Troopers report the crash occurred on at approximately 8:15 p.m. on County Road 38 (Woods-Church Road) south of State Route 229 in Knox County’s Butler Township.
The patrol reports that a 2005 Ford Excursion, driven by Tyler O. Weisgram, 37, of Delaware, was northbound on County Road 38. Troopers said Weisgram drove off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch, overturned, and struck a fence. Weisgram was ejected during the crash, troopers reported.Weisgram was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knox County Coroner. The patrol reports Weisgram was not wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol is also suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Danville Fire and EMS.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mount Gilead Highway Patrol Post.
