BROOKFIELD, OH : Woman killed in single-car crash on SR 82 on February, Saturday 17th 2018

A Girard woman was killed Saturday evening when the car she was a passenger in crashed and overturned on state Route 82 in Brookfield, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Robin Hayes, 38, died at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

James T. Hayes was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Trailblazer and was treated at the hospital for minor injuries, the patrol report states. Hayes was wearing his seat belt. The vehicle was traveling west in the left lane when the driver lost control, went off the left side of the roadway, hit the median and overturned, the report states.

A boy, 16, in the back seat, was not injured and was wearing his seat belt.

According to a GoFundMe.com account set up for Robin Hayes, she was a mother of two boys with disabilities and was traveling with her son and husband after visiting her grandmother. The account is accessible by visiting https://www.gofundme.com/robins-legacy.
