Topeka, KS : One person hospitalized after two-vehicle crash on I-70 near Wanamaker on Tuesday, 18th December 2018

One man was taken to a local hospital Tuesday morning after a two-vehicle crash during rush-hour on Interstate 70 in west Topeka.

Aaron Neal, 17, was eastbound on I-70 in the right lane when he swerved to avoid a vehicle stopped on the outside shoulder of the road.

Due to congested traffic he was unsuccessful and struck the vehicle, a 2018 Mazda driven by Rowena Albertorio, 61. She was reported to have received possible injuries in the crash. A passenger in the Mazda, Isaac Flores, 41, was also reported as possibly injured.

Aaron was the only one taken to a hospital, according to records by the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported at 7:42 a.m. on eastbound I-70 at the S.W. Wanamaker Road exit.

Traffic was backed up in the immediate area as of 7:45 a.m.
