Marshall, MO : Two teens injured in Route EE crash on a rural Saline County road on Saturday, April 2, 2016

Two teens were injured in a one-vehicle crash Saturday, April 2, on a rural Saline County road.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the incident occurred at approximately 9:05 a.m. when a 2001 Saturn was traveling south on Route EE near 140th Road. The Saturn -- driven by Brooke N. Walker, 17, of Warsaw -- traveled off the right side of the road, returned to the roadway and crossed the center line.

The vehicle overcorrected, traveling off the right side of the road where it struck an embankment and overturned.

Walker and her occupant -- Caitlyn M. Slaughter, 15, of Marshall -- both sustained moderate injuries, according to the report, and sought their own medical treatment. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The report stated neither teen was wearing a safety device.
