A KPFA radio producer and host was identified as the victim in a lethal strike-and-run in Oakland early Saturday early morning.
Wesley Burton, who was the co-host of the Berkeley radio station’s audio shows, Sideshow Radio and Right after Hours, was pronounced lifeless at the scene of the 2:twenty a.m. crash on the 5900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
A preliminary investigation by officers indicated the driver of a Dodge Charger was driving at superior speeds west on 60th Street and collided with the Mercury Sable driven by Burton, which was heading south on Martin Luther King Jr. Way, he said.
The driver of the Dodge ran absent, according to police.
Burton was married with three young children.
He was killed after leaving his shift as producer for the station’s Sideshow plan, explained KPFA’s David Rosenberg in his announcement of the demise.
