VICTORVILLE, CA : Motorcyclist dies in early Saturday morning crash on April, Saturday 1st 2017
Authorities identified a 32-year-old motorcyclist who was killed after he collided into the back of another vehicle early Saturday morning.
San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department officials said Richard Rosas, of Victorville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred between Nisqualli Road and Cypress Avenue in Victorville.
Just after 3 a.m., authorities from the Victorville Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a black 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a yellow 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truc
According to officials, the driver of the truck, who later was identified as Daniel Vasquez, 20, of Victorville, was traveling westbound in the center turn lane on Nisqualli Road and attempting to merge into the No. 1 westbound lane.
As Vasquez merged into the lane, Rosas was traveling westbound on Nisqualli Road in the No. 1 westbound lane and collided with the back of the truck, officials said.
Emergency services and responders were called to the scene to provide medical aid and conduct an investigation. As a result of the collision, Rosas was pronounced dead at the scene after succumbing to his injuries while Vasquez sustained no injuries.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Victorville Police Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.). Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact Deputy Charles Wallace or Deputy Jeffrey Dean with Victorville Police Station M.A.I.T. team.
