Greeley, CO : Platteville man dies in motorcycle crash on U.S. 85 on Thursday, 13th October 2016

A 62-year-old Platteville man died in a motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon.

The Weld County Coroner Mark Ward identified Randy Keyes as the rider of the motorcycle. Keyes was riding his motorcycle south on U.S. 85 when he lost control somewhere near Weld County Road 36 in Platteville. Ward reports Keyes went down on the highway. Paramedics were summoned, but were ultimately unable to assist. Keyes was pronounced dead at 5:10 p.m.

Platteville Police Chief Michael Root said no other vehicles were involved, but the investigation hadn’t yet determined the cause of the crash.

Keyes is the 44th person to die on Weld County roads this year. Last year at this time, 54 people had died on Weld roads.
