A crash that shut down part of I-25 in Colorado Springs Tuesday may have began as a kidnapping.Police responded to the crash at I-25 at Circle Drive around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound to the head and another woman in the vehicle. The man likely shot himself, police said. Police believe the female in the car was a kidnapping victim. Colorado Springs Special Victims unit was investigating the incident because it started in city limits. The two did know each other, police said."We do believe that they do know each other but the extent of the relationship we are not going to release at this time," said Sgt. John Koch with Colorado Springs Police.Both people are alive and were taken to the hospital, police said. State Patrol Colorado Springs Police Special Victims Unit is investigating.All southbound lanes of the interstate were shut down between the Circle Drive and Academy Boulevard exits for an hour and a half."We saw it on the message boards and it slowed down quite a bit both lanes that were open for a hot minute and then we got it off and decided to exit here at Circle," said driver Jeff Moore.Police said no arrests have been made in the case but that could change as the investigation moves forward.
