MONTGOMERY COUNTY, IN : 2 people killed in Montgomery Co. T-bone crash on I-74 on Monday, 18th February 2019
Two people were killed and two more hospitalized after a crash on Interstate 74 in Montgomery County early Monday afternoon.
The crash happened around 12:52 p.m. in the eastbound lanes near Mile Marker 34, according to a release from the Indiana State Police.
A preliminary investigation has reportedly revealed that a man was driving a 1997 Ford Expedition west on I-74 across the U.S. 231 overpass when, for an unknown reason, he lost control. The Ford then crossed the median and slid into the eastbound lanes before being hit on its driver's side by a 2018 Chevrolet EXP.
The passenger who was in the back seat of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. The two people in the front seat of the Ford were taken to the hospital, where the driver died from injuries sustained in the crash. The front-seat passenger is being treated for serious injuries.
