NASHVILLE, TN : 4 kids involved in crash caused by alleged drunk driver on Sunday, 7th July 2024
A woman is facing a slew of charges including driving under the influence and child endangerment after crashing her vehicle with her four kids inside over the weekend in the Napier area, according to an arrest report.
Police said officers responded to the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Fain Street to reports of a rollover crash early Sunday morning. They said they found the driver and her four children all out of their vehicle which was flipped over.
According to the report, officers found an empty Bud Light can on the vehicle’s passenger side. The driver, 30-year-old Ashton Grams, admitted to officers that the beer belonged to her, but she hadn’t drank alcohol since noon on Saturday.
Police said Grams showed signs of impairment during a field sobriety test and had slightly bloodshot and glassy eyes. In the report, officers said they could smell alcohol, which she claimed to have been from the beer spilling onto her.
