Vanderburgh County, IN : Alcohol a factor in a single vehicle crash near Tree Top Lane on Monday, April 6, 2015
Investigators believe alcohol contributed to a single vehicle crash on Upper Mt. Vernon Road.
The accident happened around 1:15 p.m. Monday near Tree Top Lane.
Deputies say the driver of a yellow Ford Mustang told them he had been traveling too fast.
The car left the right side of the roadway. The driver over-corrected and the Mustang struck a tree on the left side of the highway, before coming to rest.
Deputies say the driver was wearing a seat belt. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators tell us they suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
A blood sample will be sent to the Indiana State Department of Toxicology for analysis.
